Dampening Systems
1979 Agromatic manufactured the world-wide first automatically controlled dampening system.
This was a milestone in the milling industry, because constant water content for the first
grist was available for the miller.
The market demand for these units increased rapidly so Agromatic pushed the development and manufacturing of further generations of dampening systems.
Today Agromatic dampening units are in world-wide use, as well as in small mills with throughput of 150kg/h or large mills with 250to/h.
The principle
The construction of the dampening system is determined by the mill diagramme. If one, two or three step dampening, with the standard units of the today's generation this is absolutely no problem.
General information:
For multi-step dampening systems the adjustment is made with the first dampening system in order to achieve a constant humidity value for the second and perhaps third dampening. In the second and third dampening the necessary water amount is added by fix values (controlled via dampening no. 1).
As guideline values:
- dampening water addition 0 - 5% (max)
- dampening fix 1, 2 or 3 %
- dampening fix 1 or 2 %
